Dance
Dance Club was started in 2017 and offered students a chance to get together once a week to learn new dances in a range of different styles. The club provided a place for students to be involved in dance regardless of their ability or background.
Dance was then introduced as an NCEA subject at Level 2 and 3 at the College in 2020. These courses introduce students to the theory of dance, as well as enable them to explore choreography and performance. More specific information and course outlines can be found in the Subjects section of the website (under Curriculum).
In 2022, two crews (a Year 7 & 8 crew and a Year 9 & 10 crew) were entered in the Otago/Southland section of the NZ Schools Hip Hop Competition for the first time. Senior students choreographed the dances for the crews and coached them at weekly practices.
