Entry Requirement
The following is highly recommended:
- Average of “Achieved” or better in Year 10 Health and Physical Education.
- Actively involved in a school sports team or an individual pursuit.
- Positive attitude towards water based activities
Cost
The approximate course cost is $400. This covers activities such as the Peel Forest Outdoor Education Trip, Gym & Spin bike sessions.
Course Outline
The course is 50% theory and 50% practical.
- Being a Top Team Member – Involves learning strategies to enhance relationships, respect and unity in group movement contexts like touch gridiron and outdoor education experiences.
- Applying movement strategies - students demonstrate movement strategies in a range of contexts including Underwater Hockey, Ki-o-rahi and Basketball.
- Students will understand how personal movement experiences affect Hauora
- Fighting Fit - students learn about designing and implementing fitness programmes.

AS 92016 - Apply movement strategies in an applied setting (5 Credits)
AS 92017 - Demonstrate understanding of how kotahitanga is promoted in movement through application of strategies. (5 Credits)
Externals
AS 92019 - Demonstrate understanding of influences on movement in Aotearoa New Zealand or the Pacific. (5 Credits)
