Course Outline
The aim of the course is to analyse systems in a Physics context using appropriate methods, formulae and knowledge of theory. Topics studied include:
Mechanical Systems - Translational, circular, rotational, and simple harmonic motion.
Wave Systems - including the physics of musical instruments, beats, the doppler effect and diffraction.
Electrical Systems - including AC and DC electricity, capacitors, and inductors.
Modern Physics - including the photoelectric effect, nuclear reactions, and the model of the Hydrogen atom.
As well as this, students conduct a practical investigation into non-linear relationships.
