Level
NCEA mix of Level 1 and 2 Achievement Standards
Entry Requirement
“Achieved” in all sections of the end of year exam and/or 60% of all other assessments completed throughout Year 10.
Cost
$12 Scipad workbook.
Course Outline
The course is a mixture of internal and external standards that prepare the student for Level Two Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Earth & Space Science.
Contexts:
Use microscopes to determine cellular detail in plant and unicellular organisms
Biological drawing
Explain DNA structure and the significance of genetic variation
Explain how energy is transformed and transferred in systems like a thermos, electrical circuits, and falling objects. Explanations will require written accounts, graphs, and the use of calculations.
Explain how and why atoms form ions
Investigate precipitate reactions
Relate the impact of ions to people or the environment
