Commerce is the use and exploration of accounting, economic, and business concepts and models to make sense of society and solve problems. Commerce builds the knowledge, skills, and values needed to navigate and participate in the economic world.
The focus on student-centred learning is evident as students take an active role in their learning, participate in field trips, work in teams to design and market a product/service, learn about local, sustainable businesses, including future-proofing strategies.
Students will learn how businesses make financial decisions and analyse how these impact financial viability. Students will learn that scarcity necessitates decision-making and that cultural perspectives and lenses inform decisions.
