Kavanagh placed 3rd at Southern Catholic Schools Tournament 2019

On April 7 and 8 Kavanagh College travelled North to Oamaru to take part in the Southern Catholic schools sports tournament
The sports represented were Senior A boys and girls basketball, football, hockey and Senior A netball.
The Senior A basketball girls were our best performed team winning all their games, the football boys and girls not far behind, the boys only losing one game 2-1 to Roncalli and girls drawing 1-1 with Roncalli.
The netball girls won two out of four games but all games were very competitive. Both hockey teams are in a rebuilding phase after losing several key members last year and they will be happy with how they competed, which prepares them well for the up coming local competitions.
My thanks to all the staff that came on tour - Ian Adamson, Iris Bugarski, Tony Pickles, Mike Campbell, Jean Allibone and Anita Van den Beld. A big thanks also to all the outside coaches that came up to Oamaru for the day including Pete Gallagher, Wendy Blackford, Kylie Tahu, Lisa Matheson, Nick Parata, Sophie Wallis, Ian Paulin, Ruain Moriarty, Richard Kerr-Bell, Niall Quinn, Kerri Mansfield Laws and Nat Visger.
Thanks and we look forward to Gore 2020.
