Shrove Tuesday at Trinity 2023
By Staff | Posted: Monday February 20, 2023
Shrove Tuesday is before Ash Wednesday. Shrove means to be forgiven of your sins or to be “shriven” of your sins to prepare yourself for Lent and to rework your relationship with God.
Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday started 100s of years ago in the United Kingdom. The day before Ash Wednesday people feasted on pancakes because they wanted to use up their rich ingredients in the pantry such as lard, eggs, sugar and milk so to willing deprive themselves of special treats during the time of Lent.
On Tuesday our Head Students and Prefects cooked pancakes for the Year 7s and 10TLP also researched and cooked pancakes for their class.
