A group of Year 12 students were invited to attend the 2024 Inspiring Young Women Breakfast thanks to the Dunedin Branch of the National Council of Women.
On Monday morning a group of Year 12 Trinity College students attended the Inspiring Young Women’s breakfast along with students from other female schools around Dunedin. The students had the opportunity to listen to a group of inspiring women including Emma Gilmour (Business owner/ Race car driver) and Shona Low (Police inspector). The women talked about their life's journey and the challenges they had to overcome to get to where they are today.
The session started off with a delicious breakfast then moved onto hearing inspiring women talk about how they came to be. “We were encouraged to pursue our passions, to embrace challenges, and to believe that our own potential can transform our lives and lead to a more equitable and dynamic world.” Inspiring young women is all about educating females that their dreams are not only valid but attainable.
