The Year 12 Physical Education class recently embarked on a three-day mountain biking trip to Naseby. Nestled amidst picturesque landscapes, Naseby offered the perfect terrain for the students to explore and conquer various biking challenges.
Throughout the trip, the students tackled different rides around the mountain biking track, encountering diverse terrain and obstacles. Students applied different risk management strategies to help mitigate the risks that they faced while biking. From analysing trail conditions to assessing personal abilities, the students demonstrated a keen awareness of safety measures while pushing their limits.
Undoubtedly, perseverance emerged as a defining trait amongst the students. Despite encountering several challenges (a few tumbles, going swimming with our bikes, biking with our brakes on and snow.. to name a few!), they showed resilience, tackling each obstacle with determination and grit.
Students all tackled the practice assessment, navigating through a variety of terrains with finesse and skill. On Friday morning we were greeted with unexpected snowfall. Despite this unforeseen hurdle, students remained undeterred, demonstrating adaptability and by applying some good risk management strategies they got the job done!
Amidst the thrilling rides and challenging trails, the students also took part in a friendly competition – the Nachoes competition. The competition heated up this year with students thinking outside the box to score very highly across the categories of presentation, service, flavour and creativity. A definite highlight for the teachers and parents on the trip!
In conclusion, the Year 12 PE class's mountain biking trip to Naseby made for a memorable three days. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding performance and teamwork. Well done!
