Trinity students excel in parliamentary-style debating competition, showcasing skills and earning accolades with their commendable performance.

In the weekend, Trinity School's debating teams showcased their talents at the Archibald Baxter Memorial Trust Mid-Seasonal Debating Tournament. The teams, consisting of students from Year 9 and Year 11, participated in a British parliamentary-style debate. This format involved four teams competing simultaneously, providing a challenging and dynamic environment.

Both Trinity teams, including students such as Chē McGivern, Akein Wickramagedara, Camila Barns, and Ziva Curtis, gained valuable experience from the event. Trinity one, represented by Chē and Akein, achieved success by winning two out of three debates and narrowly missed the final round. Additionally, Chē was recognized with a speaking award for Best Style.

The school commends these students for their courage in exploring a new form of debate and for their outstanding performance during the tournament. Participation in such events not only hones academic skills but also fosters personal growth and teamwork, essential qualities for success both in and out of the classroom.
