Ngā Manu Kōrero Ōtākou/ Murihiku

It was an early start for those of us who gathered for the pōwhiri.
We joined the representatives from Ōtākou Runanga and other Dunedin secondary schools inside the Dunedin Town Hall to welcome the manuhiri from Murihiku.
Patrick Cotter represented Trinity in the Korimako/ Senior English section. He did not place this year, however he spoke very well in the prepared speech and presented an entertaining impromptu speech on the topic “Why should I vote for your party?”
It was encouraging to see more Dunedin secondary schools taking part this year and great to have a large kapa haka to support. We have definitely inspired more rangatahi to take part next year.
