Murder and Mayhem Across The Ocean Waves

Last Friday, June 30, the Year Nine Drama class performed to a full house at Toitū’s Early Settlers Museum’s gallery ‘Across The Ocean Waves’.
The students devised their own theatre pieces after researching the diaries of passengers who sailed on board the ‘Philip Laing’, carrying Scottish settlers to Dunedin in 1848.
The dramas told the perils and problems of life on board the sailing ship with a few moments of artistic license added for dramatic effect. After six weeks of research and rehearsals, the students were proud to perform in front of family and friends.
