Students from Years 4, 5 and 6 came over to Kavanagh for two classes of household chemistry in the laboratories.
St. Joseph's brought their students across the road to experience some practical science in the laboratories. The experience was enjoyed by both the teachers, the senior student helpers and of course, the year 4 to 6 students. They did some pH testing of household substances and the year 6 students had a competition to identify the pH of an unknown substance. They also carried out some flame testing which showed the students the chemistry behind colours. The students enjoyed being able to use a Bunsen burner.
