Hip Hop Success!

Last Sunday four Hip Hop Crews from Trinity Catholic College competed in the Otago/Southland Hip Hop Competition.
We entered two crews in the primary/intermediate section (Titanium and Collision) and two in the secondary school section (Syndicate and Legacy). The students had been practising weekly before school for much of the year and were superbly coached by four senior students - Jemma Mortimer, April Gamao, Phoebe Harris, and Tia Mawhinney.
All the crews performed wonderfully at the competition and proudly represented our school. Titanium came 1st in their section with Collision coming 3rd, while Syndicate took 3rd place in the Year 9-13 section. As a result, these three crews qualified for the National Hip Hop Competition which is taking place in Dunedin this year on Saturday 2 September. This means that Titanium, Collision, and Syndicate now get to compete against crews from around New Zealand.
Congratulations to everyone involved and a special thank you to Erica Ward (HOD Drama & Dance) and Marlise Sparks who did hair and makeup for the dancers.
