Otago/Southland Secondary Schools Chess Championship - Saturday 24th June

In yet another nail-biter, Trinity's senior chess team performed very competitively in a field of 17 teams, placing 4th, only 1/2 a point behind 2nd equal.
The intensity was high, with six chess games per player over a five hour period.
Congratulations to Sam Kelly who scored the 2nd highest points for Board 1, and to Henry Le who scored the 2nd highest points for Board 2.
It is worth noting that our team is made up of three Year 10 players, so we look forward to seeing what these players can produce over the next few years as they develop their play!
