Teachers Win Student vs Teacher Debate For The Second Year In A Row

This year's debate was a special one where our top junior team - Amalie Latton, Jemma Mortimer and Orla Kelly were taking on the teachers in the last week of Term Three.
What made the debate particularly engaging was that not only was it teacher vs student but we had a mother vs daughter element added to it. Mrs Mortimer was leading the teacher team while Jemma Mortimer challenged her mother's argument at second.
Once again, the debate had a great turn up of students, parents and teachers who were captivated by the intense argument as to why phones should be banned in the classroom. The teachers somehow successfully argued that we must keep cell phones in the classroom.
This final event in Kavanagh's debating calendar was successfully run by our devoted seniors; Elizabeth Audas as the Chair, Sam Meikle and Andrew Wilson as the adjudicators. It was a great way to wrap up another successful year of debating.
