Girls
The girls took on St Hilda's 3rds on Monday night, and continued their winning streak with a comprehensive 3-1 win. Paris Laws continues to impress with her overall improvement and scored a cracker goal. Sophie Wallis scored the other two goals. At the other end of the field, Keyra Webb was a rock in the goal, ably assisted by another steady improver, Beth Sunderland at fullback. With only one sub everyone was taxed as the pace of the game took its toll, especially on the hard working mid field. This win sets the girls up nicely for a nudge at the title going into the last round robin and then into the finals.
Boys
In a highly anticipated top of the table clash with Johnnies, the lads (and Sophie) looked focussed and motivated from the start. The hard work put in at practice showed as the team linked brilliantly all over the field. Showing cool heads in defence and swinging effortlessly into attack they were a pleasure to watch. Graysen Thomson scored two goals and had numerous other shots saved, he continues to add to an impressive repertoire of skills. Another on the top of his game was Taryn Doyle, who scored an impressive goal, and showed blinding speed around the field and a louder than comfortable volume with his encouragement from the side-line. 5-1 was the final score in a dominant display that bodes well as we progress to the pointy end of the season.
