Principal's Message

Greetings, Kia ora, Talofa, Malo e lei
The new Website is up. Take a look, it has many wonderful photos of our students, better information and has been designed to work on mobile devices and tablets.
Our Year 7 -10 sports people were unlucky with the weather on Wednesday. The Southern Catholic Schools Junior Sports Tournament involved over 400 students and was held in less than ideal conditions for those playing football and rugby. It wasn’t much warmer inside the Edgar Centre for the netball and basketball. That said the students enjoyed a great day of competition and congratulations go to Verdon College for the overall win.
My thanks to Rebekah Lynch, Hannah Williams, Emma Tilbury and Mrs Kerr-Bell for their organisation of the Formal at the Town Hall tonight. It promises to be a great night.
Ongoing professional learning is an important part of any teacher’s journey. Kavanagh College is no different with topics covered this term including Modern Formative Assessment Practices, Teaching as Inquiry, training in Restorative Practices and next week, strategies for students with dyslexia.
God Bless
Steve Read
Acting Principal
