Otago Touch Association Referee Award

Congratulations to Year 8 student Jake Lucas for winning this year's Otago Touch Association Lindsay Dunlop Emerging Referee of the Year Award. Jake started refereeing last season and in December 2024 received his Touch New Zealand Level 1 Referee qualification. There are four levels in Touch Refereeing and Jake has also been named in the Touch New Zealand Te Wai Pounmau Junior High Performance Referee's squad. Being selected to attend the Touch New Zealand Secondary Schools Championship in Auckland is the goal for Jake next season. We wish him the best of luck with his future aspirations and encourage other students to be of service and take up the whistle.
