Junior Envirogroup Joins Beach Clean-up

On Saturday 26 March, three members of the Kavanagh College Junior Envirogroup joined up as "Save our Seas" volunteers for a two-hour beach and dune clean-up at St Kilda Beach in Dunedin South.
Made Newson, Daphne Kendrick and Theodora Clarke-Wallace easily filled their Save our Seas sacks with rubbish left by untidy Kiwis along the dunes.
They thought they were going to be picking up rubbish off the beach, but found most of it was in the dunes where people had thrown it out of their cars.
"We discovered whole pizza boxes, plastic bags and McDonalds wrappers." said the Junior Envirogroup members.
Save our Seas holds regular beach clean ups in Dunedin and anyone is welcome to come along to help protect wildlife from the rubbish people leave in their coastline habitat in our city.
