On Saturday the Kavanagh U15 rugby team travelled to Clyde to play Dunstan High School. In what was a tough encounter against a very well drilled and physical team, the boys ended up losing the game. However, they were very resilient and were still giving their best effort right to the end, which was fantastic. The boys had a great time and are looking forward to the next game after Queens Birthday Weekend.
The 1st XV played their fourth game for the season against Waitaki, which was always going to be a tough game. The first 60 minutes were competitive. Kavanagh’s front rowers were showing their skills and EJ Lam Cheung led by example as the Captain with a strong game. Sione Tukula scored a fantastic try with Michael Cortdz converting. Unfortunately it was a loss but the competitive nature of the game was good preparation for their next game against John McGlashan.
The PLAYER OF THE MATCH WAS LUKA CASEY.
