He hapori tātou: We are Community

Held at the Edgar Centre over the week of 9th September, Otago Polyfest celebrates Maori and Pasifika cultures, showcasing the diverse talents of over 128 Otago education institutions.
Our festival preparations and performance would not have been possible without the support of the many people of our community. Whaea Angela Taylor the Te Reo Māori teacher at Logan Park summed it up perfectly - "He hapori tātou" (We are community).
I would like to acknowledge the many Trinity parents, students and staff who contributed to the making of our new poi and making of both our Māori and Moana uniforms but a special mention of the Barns, Brennan, de Graaf, Sutherland and Bresanello whānau for their extensive work. A massive thank you to Logan Park, Bayfield High School and the University of Otago Māori Department for the use/sharing of their Piupiu.
Considering we're a combined intermediate and high school group we could not match the abilities and skills of other high schools without the expertise of our tutors and our whānau support. Most are ex-students and friends giving back to their school community.
Fa'afetai telē lava to the following:
Tautuhi-Fraser whānau, Mele Vaikoso, Lam Cheung/Taua whānau, Tili whānau, Iaseto whānau, Kelekolio whānau, Damian Ioane, Mr Kelemete, Miss Ma'ole and many, many more. I do apologise if any names are missed.
He hapori tātou!
