St. Patrick's Day Celebrations
Kia ora! We are your year 11 Special Character Leaders for 2025.
St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17th. It is a religious and cultural holiday that celebrates the life of Ireland's patron saint, St. Patrick, and, by extension, Irish culture. It is often celebrated with parades, music, and traditional food and drinks.
We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at Trinity Catholic College by having an Irish quiz kahoot in the lecture theatre and a treasure hunt during lunchtime. This was a great success and the lecture theatre was full! During the Kahoot, there was a lot of Celtic music and the winner won a bar of chocolate, all the other participants received lollies. For the treasure hunt, we started at the amphitheatre and followed a string of clues down to the dungeon, where we had someone waiting there with a leprechaun hat full of chocolate coins. By doing these activities, we hope to encourage the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and embrace Irish heritage.
Prayer for St. Patrick’s Day
God our Father,
you sent Saint Patrick to preach your glory to the people of Ireland.
With the help of his prayers,
may all Christians proclaim your love to all.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever,
Amen.
Blessings,
Mina & Matthew
