Royal Commission into Historical Abuse in Care
By Bishop Michael Dooley | Posted: Thursday November 26, 2020
Starting Monday 30th November survivors will give public evidence to this Royal Commission concerning abuse in Catholic Parishes, schools and institutions.
The evidence will be livestreamed and can be accessed on this website abuseincare.org.nz.
These hearings continue until Friday 11th December 2020. This evidence will probably be reported widely in the media and our communities need to be aware that there will be confronting information.
The bishops and congregational leaders requested to be part of this Inquiry and see it as a way of being open about acknowledging what has happened and getting recommendations about actions for improvement and healing in the future.
