Lion Dance Workshop

On Saturday the Otago Southland Chinese Association had a workshop with Lion Dance Master George Chan who came down from Christchurch with the Christchurch Lion Dance troupe.
The two troupes worked hard on Saturday and Sunday in sweltering temperatures.
The students from Kavanagh College - Emily Kelsall, Alice Kelsall and Oscar Ung - gave up their long weekend and worked hard coming away with new enthusiasm and ideas about how to improve the performances they do to help their communities celebrate traditional holidays and events.
Some of these students have been involved with the troupe for over eight years.
