Kavanagh College has excelled in Curling this year
The girls won all their games with ease and exceptional skill. They are the 2017 and 2018 National Champions!
The boys headed into the semi-final against OBHS. It was a nail-biting game with Jayden playing a “rippa” of a final stone to secure victory. The final match was against Maniototo Area High School. Once again, it went right down to a nail-biting finish. A very tense audience watched as Maniototo’s final stone just missed the mark. We all erupted into full cheering mode!!
A huge thanks to Lawrence for his superior coaching & perils of wisdom. Both his teams are the top in NZ!
Thank you also to the staff and students who cheered on the teams. A special shout out to Daniel Kelly - he was the loudest supporter. If you get a chance, ask him to recall the final moments of the boys’ final. I’m confident he will be able to recapture the moment for you.
There is an article in the ODT regarding their success
