Regional Navy Cadet Regattas

Year 12 Trinity Catholic College student Leiha Ryall represented the TS Neptune Otago Navy Cadets at the Regional Regatta competition in Christchurch recently. Leiha's Otago team placed an impressive 3rd overall in the competition!
Over the weekend of 14th March, navy cadet teams across the country competed in the Regional Navy Cadet Regattas held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
At each Area Regatta, the team’s completed stands to test the Navy Cadet skills of each individual and the team as a whole. These included sailing, marksmanship, rope work, mast construction, rigging a sailboat, first aid, chart work, and drill.
The competitions were fierce, but there must be a winner. Bravo Zulu to TS Achilles (Auckland City), TS Amokura (Wellington) and TS Royalist (Timaru), who won their respective area regatta. We eagerly await these teams mustering in Auckland to compete against each other at the National Regatta.
