Opportunity for Participation in NZ Chinese Research

Kia ora koutou, Daai gaa hou 大家好, Ni men hao 你们好
My name is Erica and I am a local Dunedin community member conducting research as part of a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology.
In this research, I want to capture the voices of NZ Chinese students who have received any support for their learning. This might look like:
• After school tutoring
• Gifted learner support
• Assistive technologies (laptop, iPad or software)
• Teacher aide support
• Reading recovery
• Specialist intervention (RTLB, Educational Psychologist, Occupational Therapist)
As a member of this community myself, I know that very little research in Education includes the voices of NZ Chinese young people. I would like to explore what they have to say about their learning experiences, in the context of reaching their full potential.
I am seeking young people (aged 18 and under) with Chinese heritage who have accessed any form of learning support to participate in this research.
Participation would involve one informal interview with myself at a convenient time, for between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
If you or a young person close to you would be interested in taking part, please get in touch directly – any questions about participation or eligibility are welcome.
