This year Tobias Devereux has taken part in both the New Zealand Maths Olympiad and the New Zealand Informatics Olympiad achieving a Silver Award in Maths and 2nd Place in Informatics (against the top students in these fields in the country).
The NZ Maths Olympiad consisted of two rounds. The first round was a series of 8 problems that students worked on and then submitted. Based on results from Round 1, students were invited to participate in Round 2 which was a 3-hour exam that took place during the last holidays.
The NZ Informatics Olympiad consisted of three rounds throughout the year and in each students had 3 hours to solve 5 problems using computer programming.
