Senior A Girls Volleyball at Mainlands

Last weekend the Senior A Girls Volleyball team represented Trinity for the first time at Mainlands in Christchurch.
This is a great tournament with the best teams from Secondary Schools from across the South Island, 44 of these being in the girls competition.
Our young women played with heart and determination and came out 9th in Division 2, with a nail biting 5 set game to claim the position. With injuries reducing the team to only 6 players for the last two games and players having to play out of position, their efforts were admirable. They really left everything on the court!
The team performed the best a Kavanagh/Trinity team has in many years and we can be proud of their dedication and skills. The fact that a number of them are still in Year 11 and 12 makes for a promising future for the team in the Senior Competition.
Many thanks for all the parental support, especially Kerry Fraser who manages and travelled with the team. Big thanks also to Pete Sefo, who has been coaching the team, some of them since junior level, and Michele Rodger as Teacher in Charge.
