Siblings showcase skills

Just before the end of term 2 Drew White (yr 13) spent 2 weeks over in Australia competing in over 45 competitive games of laser tag in multiple formats. This was the Zone Laser Tag Australasian Competition. This is a tough competition, competing with over 140 other competitors, some who have participated at this event for 10 years.

Drew did well and held his own seeing he is still a relatively new player with just 12 months experience. He came home without any placings however loads of new friendships and more knowledge/skills of the games.

Just recently this past weekend both Drew and Beth (yr 8) competed in Invites (a national laser tag competition) held here in Dunedin at Megazone.

Drew had the unfortunate event that one of his team mates needed emergency surgery they day before comp started and had some fill in players (including his Mum) cover the spot for him so Drew could continue to play in some formats. The results didn't really go his way but his stats from the games put him 6th in NZ.

Beth in her first major competition did well. She competed hard and managed to come away with a trophy for 3rd in her teams format.

Seasoned players and members of Laser Tag New Zealand are impressed with both Drew and Beth with their skill improvement and the committee will meet again shortly to give them their new player grading. Congratulations to the White Family!
