Senior OMA-thlon Team, 2019

Kavanagh's team "J.A.S.T" (Joshua Chen, Andrew Wilson, Sam Meikle, Tobias Devereux) made a very strong showing at the recent Senior OMA-thlon.
The OMA-thlon is organised by the Otago Mathematics Association. The senior competition runs a bit like a pub quiz, with a wide range of questions including general knowledge and problem-solving spread across several rounds. Well over 20 school teams competed this year. And it was a very close contest! By the start of the last round, our team was placed first equal, only to be pipped at the post by Kings High School.
Our team was made up of Year 11 and 12 students, so no doubt they will return next year to have another crack at the "title"! Well done!
