Duke of Edinburgh

On Monday 5th December, our Duke of Edinburgh group set out for Glenorchy for our final adventurous journey of the year.
On the first day, we attempted to summit Ben Lomond. This was a challenging hike in the hot sun but the students did a great job and enjoyed the stunning views over Queenstown.
We were fortunate to have the use of the East Otago Glenorchy lodge and we set up camp late on Monday evening.
On Tuesday, we headed to the start of the Routeburn and had a big day on the trail. All groups made it to the Routeburn Falls Hut with some going as far as the Harris Summit. The scenery was amazing and the trees sheltered us from the rain perfectly!
On our final day, we ventured along the Judah track to Bonnie Jean Hut. This was another great trail and a good way to finish the journey. A massive well done to the students that completed this and the parents that have supported throughout the year.
