Uniform Changes 2020 - Refreshed Look At A More Competitive Price
Greetings, Kia ora, Talofa, Mālō e lelei
The Board of Trustees has been working with uniform suppliers since late last year with a view to sourcing good product at more competitive prices. They have also taken the opportunity to undertake a bit of a refresh of the appearance. Some decisions have now been made and we are pleased to announce that a new uniform shop will be developed onsite in the space where the current second- hand uniform shop is. This shop will stock all of the Kavanagh College uniform requirements.
The uniform is identical in style and colour to the current uniform with three exceptions – the boys short and long trousers will be a dark navy blue, the socks are a dark blue sock with a maroon strip around the top and the Year 7 – 10 shirt for boys is a white shirt with a thin stripe of blue. The current kilt and blazer are retained.
There is to be a phasing in period with only new students coming in Year 7 in 2020 and students entering Year 11 in 2020 being expected to wear the new uniform. Students at other levels may choose to wear either the new or old uniform in 2020.
We will have some fully made up samples on display as soon as possible.
There has been some discussion around ties. Should the girls uniform have a tie? Should juniors wear a tie? We will be consulting with parents and students in the coming weeks on this matter.
A special thanks to the staff, students and parents involved in getting last weeks production of Annie up to such a high standard. It was a great showcase of the cultural life of the school.
God Bless
