Women in Space Aotearoa New Zealand (WISANZ) has launched the annual Space Up! Essay Competition!

Space Up! is a FREE club for high school students who are passionate about space, or keen to learn more about space. The primary focus of the club to encourage and support girls and young women who are interested in space to engage with each other as well as with WISANZ mentors.

Our essay competition aims to inspire girls at high school in New Zealand to engage with STEM subjects and get thinking about career pathways, particularly in space fields.

Thank you for your assistance to promote this exciting new competition as widely as possible to your students! Please feel free to contact the WISANZ team at info@womeninspace.co.nz if you have any questions.

In addition to the Space Up! Essay Competition, WISANZ are also bringing Astronaut Peggy Whitson to New Zealand to share her amazing space career experiences with students and their whānau at a FREE EVENT in Auckland on Thursday 11th July!

Planning is underway as we work to bring Peggy’s inspiration to as many students as we can.
