Year 13 Geography Trip

Year 13 Geographers went on a field trip on Tuesday March 12th .
The aim of our trip was to collect data to use for our current research project.
Intrepid students took beach profiles and measured longshore drift at Tomahawk Beach, and then as a comparison, at Tunnel Beach. We also observed vegetation, climate features and rock structure. We used oranges to measure the longshore drift, given that they are easy to see and they float. Unfortunately some oranges came to a somewhat sticky end!
Students were well organised and a pleasure to work with.
