Bannister Wins Southland Title

Southland Senior Squash Open

Aria Bannister (No.2 seed in the senior women’s open) won the Southland Squash Open in the weekend in Invercargill. Aria played the No.1 seed, USA Division.1 College athlete and Southland Women’s No.1 Anna O’Connor, and won this match 3 games to two after fighting back from 2 sets to 0 down. Last time the two met O’Connor won 3/0.

The Southland Open is one of New Zealand's prestigious senior events, with Aria currently being the Senior Women’s Otago and Southland open champion. She will be defending her Otago Women’s title in a couple of weekends time at the Otago Squash Club before she competes in 2 world ranking professional events in the South Island in June. Go well Aria!
