Special Character Reflection

Good morning everyone
This week is Social Justice Week, and our main focus will be centred around Racism. This issue is virtually challenging and important for us all. Our school is centred around many different ethnitic backgrounds both in staff and students.
Social Justice week / Te Wiki O te Whai Tika was established by the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference in 1997. It is a week to reflect and take action on a particular current social justice issue in the light of the Catholic Social teachings. This year's theme being Racism, it is important to focus on human dignity and solidarity. As a community a great step for us all is to respond with love and acceptance in our daily interactions, as Jesus has modelled for us. It is recognising that we are called to be one by Christ, as we are all part of one human family. Even though we may be different in so many ways, we can all come together to work for justice, peace and love.
The prayer today is called ‘Standing Together’
We stand together as a sign of hope for the hopeless, We stand together in solidarity for the dispossessed, We stand together in prayer,
We stand together as a blessing for each other, We stand together as living candles of peace and faith, We stand together as witnesses to the Gospel of love.
Amen.
We all hope everyone has a good week, look after yourselves, remember to love one another and only show kindness and respect. Now let's keep all the seniors in our prayers and hearts as they face their exams this coming week, goodluck.
