“Why, this is very midsummer madness.”
This year Kavanagh has three entries into Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival.
In preparation for the competition Ellen Redfearn (director of the Twelfth Night group), Ted Kerr-Bell (Olivia) and Enrique Garcia (Malvolio) took a trip out to St Peter Chanel to work with Sara Tunoka. Sara is fantastic practitioner, who is an expert at all things Shakespeare. She was an absolute delight to work with and gave the troupe a lot to think about to enhance their characters. A massive thank you to Sara for supporting our students!
Lexie Tomlinson is also directing an entry from Much ado About Nothing for the competition staring Imogen Sullivan (Beatrice) and Te Kahui Mariu-Boreham (Benedict).
Kate Kelly completes our directing team, with an entry from Taming of the Shrew. This piece stars Troy Kubala (Petruchio) and Amalie Latton (Katherina).
The troupes will travel to Invercargill in Week 9 to compete in the Southland competition. We wish you all the best in your final preparations
