2024 Aotearoa New Zealand Spelling Bee

Congratulations to our Trinity College spelling stars who have made the semi-finals!
Congratulations to the following Year 9 students who have qualified for the 2024 Aotearoa New Zealand Spelling Bee Semi-Finals, sponsored by The Wright Family Foundation.

They are among the top 260 spellers to advance to this next stage. It is a huge achievement. The cut-off mark was 34/50. Two students in NZ got 49 and Trinity's top score was 40! This year 76 secondary schools registered for the event.
Not every school has students advance to the Semi-finals so these eight students have done very well.
The students will take part in the Dunedin regional semi-final.
