Kavanagh First XI Cricket Team Back in Action

The Kavanagh College First XI Cricket team played South Otago High School in the NZ Cricket First XI Cup
On Wednesday 14th February the Kavanagh College First XI cricket team played in Round 1 of the First XI cup vs SOHS at Sunnyvale.
Kavanagh College batted first and made 97 all out, with Dom Madden carrying his bat with 60 not out. Unfortunately, this was never enough runs and SOHS chased it down in the 15th over.
The team has several new players to this level of cricket and hope to improve over the coming weeks as it prepares to take on old foes St Kevins in the annual Interschool match in Oamaru on March 2. The team also had a surprise visit from members of the Otago Volts who took the team for the warm ups and gave some advice.
