Congratulations to Camila Barns (Year 9) who travelled to Invercargill last week to take part in the Ōtākou/Murihiku Ngā Manu Kōrero speech competition.

Ngā Manu Kōrero is regarded as an important event for developing oratory skills and providing the stage for young people to express their views. The speech contest is intended to encourage the development of skills and confidence of Māori students in spoken English and te reo Māori. The competition runs throughout the country and is in its 59th year.

Camila delivered her speech incredibly well and achieved 2nd place in the junior section of the competition. We're proud of you, Camila - and thank you for being such a wonderful representative of Trinity Catholic College.
