Instrumental Lessons
By Georgie Watts | Posted: Tuesday February 1, 2022
Students have all been emailed a sign-up form for instrumental lessons for this year.
If you are interested in your child having musical instrument or voice lessons then this is the link to the sign-up form that the students have received via their school emails (you can search for emails from Ms Watts to find it!).
Students who had lessons last year and who wish to continue should also fill the form out. Woodwind, Brass and Strings are offered through the Itinerant Music Teachers scheme. You would not pay for lessons in these instruments, but you would pay for the hire. The hire fee for a school instrument is $150 per year to cover repairs and replacements, also payable term by term at $37.50 per term. We have a limited number of instruments so if you wish to play one of these instruments but there are no more school ones available, you can hire them (by the term) from KBB Music (Rockshop) or Beggs Music. If you hire a school instrument the fees would be paid directly to the school Bursar. Full-year hire fees will still be charged if student decides to stop lessons partway through the year.
Please note that under Red restrictions we cannot play woodwind or brass instruments in school, nor can we sing. You can still have these lessons but they will run differently until we are at Orange.
The Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, and Vocal tutors are private music specialists who offer lessons in school time. They set their fees for the lessons and should be paid directly in advance of lessons. We do not hire out guitars, or amplifiers through school.
On receipt of the form I will email you with more information on the instrument and tutor for what you want to learn.
