Year 10 Economics

It is New Zealand based and focuses on real world financial decision-making. Students are guided through each topic with quizzes, random event cards, and tasks which are rewarded with Gem payments. The student uses Gems to purchase items. 

So far, students have opened a bank account and transferred funds between accounts to see how interest works over time, created a CV, found a job, and opened a KiwiSaver account. 

Other topics to be explored include Flatting & Home Ownership; Budgeting & Insurance; and the Stock Exchange. Students are also paid Gems for attendance at Google Meets plus for any additional work they complete.
