Pentecost

The College is celebrating Pentecost with a school Mass on Wednesday, June 12th

Pentecost, with the coming of the Holy Spirit, is considered the birthday of the Catholic Church.

As with many times of celebration, it is customary to bring a small present. This year we are asking students to bring a small personal hygiene product, that will be distributed to worthy causes in our community. This could be a comb, shampoo, razor, soap, tooth brush, toothpaste, or something similar. They will be collected in tutor classes, before period 1.

This year we are focusing on the biblical reference Matthew 28:19-20

“ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…. I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

To show that the community of Kavanagh College represents a variety of nations we are asking students to wear their national costume, if this is readily available. If not, then please wear the colours of the country where either side of your family originated from. This can be a flag colour or a colour associated with the country of origin.

Thank you for your support as parents and caregivers.
