Plaques Laid and Blessed

Last month plaques commemorating the passing of two active staff members were unveiled.

The first was for Mike Griffiths who died while a member of Kavanagh College staff in 2000. Mike was a Mathematics and Physical Education teacher and had taught with us since 1975. Shayne Flanagan, a long time friend of Mike's, spoke of his work and dedication to his students in his time at St Paul's and at Kavanagh College.

Our main reason for gathering at this time was to unveil a plaque for Lyn Osten who died in March, 2018. Lyn joined us in 1999 and taught in the Year 7 and 8 and in the Religious Education Department. She was Junior Director of Religious Studies at the time of her death. Her tribute was presented by Mike Campbell.

It was a moving ceremony made all the more poignant by the participation of Lyn's husband Brian and daughters Katelyn and Jemma.

At the end of the gathering the plaques were blessed by Father Sani.
