Hope you've all had an amazing week so far!

As we prepare for Easter we think about what is important. It is a common practice for reconciliation to take place in this space coming up to easter. After we confess our sins we feel light, and it's a way for us to face reality. We are all human and everyone makes mistakes, reconciliation is so powerful because no matter what God loves us. There is a saying that if we are truly trying, our sins are like a teardrop in the ocean. Fun fact it used to be common for people to announce their sins publicly! Wishing you all the best time leading up to easter!

Young Vinnies

The Trinity Young Vinnies Groups are up and running already. Both the Junior and Senior schools have had an incredible turnout and lots of enthusiasm. The Junior Young Vinnies recently voted for roles with Ashley Johns as president, Olivia Anstey as Vice President, Jasmine Silcock as Secretary, and Tara Webb as Treasurer. We are so proud of everyone who gained roles, put their name forward, and all of those who are a part of our team. The Juniors have done an awesome job at planning a can drive for Thursday 21st of March, week 8, to help support those less fortunate within our wider community. They’ve made an awesome poster and planned out every detail. They are really looking forward to this day, make sure you bring along a can or two if possible! 

Commonwealth Service

On Sunday the 10th of March the Commonwealth Service took place. Sunday was Commonwealth Day, and the service celebrated this. This Dunedin-wide ceremony also acknowledged the gathering of all the heads of the Commonwealth in Samoa later this year with student representatives from most high schools. Our Head Boy, Isaac Tili did a scriptural reading, and Matua Moananu was given the honour of assisting with the blessing of the flags with the Dean of St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral Fr Tony Curtis. As well as this Therese and Anamalia Tili played a key cultural role in the ceremony, which is pictured below. Deputy head students Tia and Jake were also in attendance carrying our school banner. It was a lovely ceremony and everyone spoke so well.
