The first two games back since the school holiday break have been fast paced games for the 1st XI team
The team is playing really well together and contesting right until the final whistle. These two games have not gone our way with the final score but have helped the team to develop, improve communication and look at including the learnings from training out onto the turf. There has also been opportunities for players to try out new positions and increase their understanding of positional play. The team continues to train hard on a Sunday night in preparation for their games on Tuesday. They had a great session with Hymie Gill from Otago Hockey last Sunday who put them through a range of drills to test their understanding of the game and skills.
In last week’s game, the Sal’s Player of the Day was awarded to Guin Wilson who played a really strong defensive game with great out letting up the field to her team mates. The Sal’s Team Player of the Day went to Jeremy Meikle who show-cased his handy stick skills and speed to get around the opposition.
In the last game before the school holidays the Sal’s Player of the Day was awarded to Campbell MacDade, and the Sal’s Team Player of the Day was awarded to Graysen Thomson.
