Friday night saw a return of the annual New Zealand Chamber Music Competition Regional Final.
We had students in two groups enter. Serenity Hook once again in a wonderful trio with musicians from Bayfield and Kings took the mighty KBB prize for best ensemble without string instruments, as well one of the judges Highly Commended prizes. Well done Serenity!
Our trio of Sean Small, Aaron Wee, and Oliver Lodge also performed brilliantly and took away the prize for the best performance of an original work: "Ricordi" by Oliver. Congratulations for this huge achievement!
It was a wonderful evening of music and we were all grateful to have the opportunity to play again after what feels like so long without live music.
