Year 10 Naseby Camp

Last week 36 of our Year 10 students embarked on a four day camp program based in Naseby Forest.
Initially the plan was to head down to Deep Cove in Fiordland, but due to road closures this was not possible and an alternative was quickly found and planned by Iris.
Disappointment in not heading to Deep Cove did not dampen the high spirits of this amazing group of year 10 students. During the four days the students participated in Curling at the Naseby Ice Stadium and also the 360m Luge. In Naseby we also had a hotly contested sports tournament and went to a local 'garage Movie Theatre' to watch a vintage movie. This made all the teachers and parents feel old as the movie the year 10's choose came out in 2005! Not that old.
During our time in Central Otago our group spent the day at St Bathans doing a hike around the lake and then having lunch together at the Historic Vulcan Hotel. Here we shared historical facts we had picked up and the odd rumour was shared of the Ghost of St Bathans. Of course a visit wouldn't be complete without a swim in Blue Lake.We were also lucky enough to spend a morning at the Cromwell Inflatable Water park. Our year 10 group was the first group of the season to attend the water park and this meant that some of our students were the first ever to complete some of the new obstacles. Heaps of fun and some challenges were had.
Mixing all of these events with swimming, team challenges, hanging out with friends and an epic game of full camp ground spotlight.
The students were all fantastic and showed the Trinity values in action in all aspects of the camp. To the teachers who supported the camp thank you so much. Mrs Davie, Mr Sutherland and most importantly Iris for organising and running this program for all of the year 10s. The effort you put in was much appreciated by all. To the parents who came along and supported the students, Simone Creedy and Gary La Hood. You guys were exceptional.
However, the biggest thanks needs to go to the year 10 students. You are all amazing examples of Trinity values and a delight to spend four days with in the forest.
